Managing vs. Leading: Is there a difference? Northern Trust’s Bill Osborn thinks there is

I am honored to highlight a recent Crain’s Chicago Business video clip highlighting the leader of my current client, Northern Trust Corporation.

Bill Osborn was named chairman and CEO of Northern Trust in 1995, after 25 years with the company. Under his leadership, Horten’s U.S. operations have grown to 19 states, and its international reach has extended to 13 countries. I can speak from firsthand experience that this company is chock full of trust and integrity. It is a joy to work with the folks at this top-notch company.

Follow this link to hear Mr. Osborn talk about:

  • Leading vs. managing
  • Fostering communication
  • The importance of serving on corporate boards [and serving the community-at-large]
  • Balancing work and family

Enjoy!
